Happy New Year!

We hope everyone had a happy holiday and New Year celebration. We are excited to kick off 2019!  2018 was a tremendous year and we marveled in our students' growth in their Martial Arts, Parkour, and Fitness training.  We are proud of everyone who promoted and moved up in their respective ranks and notably we have had several students attain their Black Belt and Jr. Black Belt degrees this past year.  We look forward to promoting several more to that highly-coveted rank and applaud all students as they reach their own goals and milestones on the journey to Black Belt.

In 2018, Shaolin Kempo Arts participated in several community events and we look forward to continued partnership with those local organizations and businesses.  We also celebrated 18 years in business, hosted our annual Del Mar beach workouts and dojo family BBQ, Ninja Camps, birthday parties, tournaments and Padres Martial Arts Day. Our Leadership Team continues to grow and thrive; we added new Leadership Team members to our staff, enthusiastic camp counselors, and our special team of role models (S.T.O.R.M.) who assist in our classes as well.  They really enjoy getting to know the students and their families.  Our Guidance on Leadership Development class has grown and we enjoy seeing the leadership qualities emerge both in and outside the dojo. As you know, Shaolin Kempo Arts is not just a basic Karate school teaching Martial Arts techniques, but we focus on the personal growth and development of each student as they journey through and mature in our school over the years. We take great pride in our Power Words program and believe our 10 Shaolin Kempo Arts principles are the backbone to our dojo. POWER WORDS has been a valuable asset to our existing character development program. Be sure to turn those in EVERY month! January's word is LOYALTY and will be arriving in your inbox tomorrow morning. As we kick off 2019, we are energized and ready to start back with all of our classes and see everyone's smiling faces.   We are excited to set new goals for 2019 for all of our students as they continue on with their Martial Arts training.  Many dojo events are on the calendar already so be sure to look for announcements both in our school, Facebook, Instagram, and in your email as the year progresses.  We have many new and interesting ways to challenge our students this year and look forward to implementing them.  A couple of immediate January reminders: All classes resume Wednesday, January 2nd as regularly scheduled. We have Ninja Camp January 2nd as well as Monday, January 21st on the MLK holiday and we will be open for classes. Registration is now open; feel free to invite siblings, friends and neighbors. You can register at www.carmelvalleyninjacamp.com We have received many requests for a Wednesday 3:30 p.m. Dragons class in addition to our Tues/Thurs/Sat schedule. If you are interested in registering and attending that day in addition to your current schedule, please email us directly. We need 5 students in order to open the class. Please note that effective January 1, 2019 will be our biennial rate change for all group classes to support the expected high quality services, facility, and instruction that we deliver at Shaolin Kempo Arts. Group class tuition for Martial Arts and Parkour will increase by $5.00 each month.
